Materials handling specialist Stanley Handling has launched its new ROBUR SBP/ 4V 4-Way Pedestrian Stacker. Designed to handle long and awkward items where space is limited, the stacker is particularly suited to lifting and moving long plastic extrusions, steel pipes, cut timber and sheet materials.
The new model offers outstanding performance and flexibility to companies that need to handle long lengths of product through narrow doorways and in tight gangways whether for incoming materials and finished goods leaving the factory or for movement through the manufacturing process.
Able to unload from vehicles, the unit will operate in aisles down to just over 2 metres wide. Load capacities range between 1500 and 4000kg and with lift heights of up to 4000mm the stacker offers exceptional versatility. The ROBUR 4-Way meets health and safety concerns, allowing the operator outstanding all-round visibility as well as providing programmable speed control, an operator safety button and lift/ lower levers for infinite lowering speeds.
One of the first customers for the new stacker was the UK’s leading provider of timber system solutions to the house building and construction sectors, Stewart Milne Timber Systems at its £10m automated facility in Oxfordshire.
Unloading and handling of bundled timber outdoors is carried out by large heavy-duty 4-way trucks but the client required a more compact unit for movements within the plant. The ROBUR machine has enabled swift and efficient transporting of timber between storage, sawing and manufacturing areas.
The 3000kg electric truck was specified to provide increased flexibility in cantilever racking and boasts a 1920mm lowered mast height with a maximum lift height of 3500mm. The unit’s robust manufacture has proved reliable and productive and its compact dimensions, ergonomic controls and Stanley Handling’s comprehensive training have been a hit with operators.
