Ely-based Clean Machine (UK) Ltd is clearly a company that places great store in customer service. Established in 1986 the company has grown to become the East of England’s largest commercial laundry and dry cleaning equipment distributor, handling upwards of 500 branded machines a year including Miele, Huebsch IPSO and ADC.
Their professionalism begins, literally, with having the right tools for the job in the form of a fleet of modern delivery and service vans, fully equipped with tools and spare parts for on-site service. Each vehicle is fitted with satellite positioning technology enabling head office to pinpoint the location of the vehicle for optimum response and good customer liaison
When it comes to deliveries and installations the fleet is equally well specified with drop-down vehicle beds for fast, efficient loading and unloading and with a PowerMate LE1 powered stairclimber for delivery right to the point of installation.
Purpose Designed
With individual items weighing, typically, up to 300kg and notoriously bulky and unwieldy to handle, PowerMate is a valuable aid. At first sight, it resembles a sack truck but there the similarity ends. It serves to automatically balance its load then powers itself and the product over thresholds, up stairs and round the tightest of landings. It also enables machines to be raised for stacking when required. As one of a range of stairclimbers from the leading UK supplier, Stanley Handling, the LE1 is specifically designed for such products with highly concentrated loads, removing the need for manual effort and putting the operator in full control of manoeuvring.
PowerMate not only speeds up installation it also vastly improves handling safety and virtually eliminates the possibility of damage to equipment and customer premises. It is the only handling technique which facilitates the delivery of this type of equipment within current health and safety legislation.
On-Vehicle
Weighing just 92kg PowerMate can be carried on-vehicle and transferred as required from van to van. Capacity of the LE1 model is 318kg. Standard features include strap bars and straps, a gel filled leak-proof battery and an electronic charger. Optional accessories include detachable toe plates, landing extenders, to provide an additional metre of working space in gaining access to upper levels, slip sheets for easy rotational manoeuvring on tight staircases, one-way brakes, cylinder/barrel locators, pneumatic tyres and an in-transit charging kit.

Operator Training
The contract included the training of all members of the Clean Machine operating team. This is an essential factor in meeting current health and safety legislation and requires refresher training after three years.
