When the UK division of Kuehne & Nagel, the leading global logistics network, needed to update its mechanical handling equipment they called in the leaders in the field: Stanley Handling.
Neil Clifford, Northern Region Operations Manager of Kuehne & Nagel says: "Operatives in our specialist UK division for the movement of telecommunications racks had been experiencing problems with existing - non-Stanley supplied - powered stairclimbers. I was recommended to speak with Stanley Handling by one of the company's existing customers.
"We moved to using Stanley Handling's equipment after viewing demonstrations of PowerMate M2B and SC Lightweight stariclimbers at our Reading Offices. An order for four SC Lightweight stairclimbers was placed, as we were impressed by the ease with which operatives would be able to handle heavy telecoms cabinets.
"Telecoms cabinets account for 60% of our business and it is therefore essential operatives are able to handle them efficiently and without risk of injury to themselves, the equipment, and the surrounding area. Using the SC helps to make certain this is a reality.
"Warehouse staff also use the PowerMate M2B stairclimber to handle cabinets which are suitable for the latest broadband and G3 technology. Taking into account the anticipated surge for broadband and G3 technology we have placed an order for 3 further PowerMate stairclimbers to add to our existing fleet of 4."
